The High School Band and Choir will perform tonight at the IHSMA Large Group Festival at Atlantic High School. The Band plays at 7:20 p.m. and the Choir sings at 8:25 p.m. There is a cash only admission charge for spectators: $12 for adults; $7 for seniors; $5 for students.

FM art students recently participated in the Spring Celebrating Art contest. This is a national art contest in which students are chosen to have their artwork published in the annual Celebrating Art book. The contest is sponsored by Blick Art Materials and the purpose is to support art education and provide a platform of achievement for youth art. Winners are: Nevan Hensley, Brianna Milbourn, Laney Morrical, Dezzi Peck, Kaidynce Reafleng, Lillian Gill and Alberte Groendahl.

Kimber Wederquist was selected for the Governor's Scholar Award. The Governor's office, the Iowa HIgh School Athletic Association and the Iowa Farm Bureau presented the awards on Sunday April 27th. There were 371 seniors who were honored for their high academic achievements.
