4th grade completed their yearly bread in a bag with the help of Fremont County Extension. They can’t “wheat”to taste the final product!!
Today, Scott Richardson brought his garbage truck to the school to show the preschoolers. Preschool just began their unit on the environment. Garbage pickup and recycling are ways we can take care of our environment.
After a long absence, the 2021 Corner Conference Vocal Festival was held at Fremont-Mills. Vocal students from seven schools practiced all day for the evening concert, under the direction of Conductor, Evan Adamon and Accompanist, Lori Erkenbrack.
Doors for the High School Football Awards Night in the Auditorium open at 6:15 pm. We will begin around 6:45 pm.
FM hosts the Corner Conference Vocal Festival tonight in the North Gym. Please enter the north gym doors. Doors open at 6:15 and the concert begins at 7!
We had our end-of-the-season Volleyball banquet. Thanks to all who went out for Volleyball this year. We would like to especially thank our Seniors, Kaelynn and Chloe.
Several sixth graders chose a ride with Deputy Killpack for filling up their Knights Take Charge punch cards. Each student got to choose a friend to share the ride. Good job sixth graders!
Mary Howery announced the winners of the VFW essay contest. Keyana H. sixth grader, won first place in the Patriots Pen contest. In the Voice of Democracy contest, Kelly H., senior, won first place. Both girls will advance to the next level.
FM celebrated Veterans Day with a ceremony at 11:00 AM in our auditorium. Honored guests were Veterans in the audience who shared their branch of service and years served. A Senior was honored who will be going into the service after graduation. FM thanks all of our Veterans.
The High School Volleyball banquet will be this Sunday, November 14th at 4:00 PM in the high school multipurpose room. Please use the front doors for entry.
The Before and After school kids in the ECC worked on a coloring collaboration project to make a flag. The daycare students made camouflage hearts and mini-flags.
This project was to honor several of the parents of our students who are currently serving in the military.

November 11, 2021 is the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Author Jeff Gottesfeld read from his children’s book: Twenty-One Steps: Guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which tells the story of how the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier came into being. Mr. Gottesfeld was joined by a Tomb guard who explained the rigorous process of being selected as a Tomb guard and the 27-hour shifts of Tomb guard duty: an honor sought by many but for which few are selected. The third - sixth-graders watched this live on YouTube in the auditorium on Wednesday, November 10.
Fremont-Mills salutes our staff members who served our country in the Armed Forces. Mike Younts, Science Teacher, served four years in the Navy after graduation. He was stationed in the Persian Gulf and he spent three years stationed in Japan.
Kirsten Heard was in the Army Reserves for six years and served in Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Kindergarten, first and second grade students have been going on Dragonland Adventures which is part of the Iowa STEM Scale-Up program. Students listen to a story and then code and operate Bee Bots using story elements. Mrs. Wake was assisted by AEA Tech Leader, Judy Griffin.
