Students in F-M's "Ag Mechanical & Engines" class get hands-on experience and life skills all while coming to the aid of the Fremont-Mills' family. Today they learned how to change a tire on a teacher's car after she picked up a nail on the way to school this morning. This year they have also paired learning and community service by jump starting dead batteries, changing oil, sharpening mower blades, and diagnosing and replacing the carburetor on a snowblower. Students also work on an ongoing tractor restoration project and so many other student projects from welding to repairing their own vehicles.
BPA and Topics in Journalism & Broadcasting students recently toured the Goodwill Omaha warehouse and outlet center in Omaha, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how the organization operates!
Students learned that Goodwill is much more than a thrift store. While on site, they met with the Marketing and Communications Manager and gained valuable insight into public relations, marketing strategy, and supply chain management. A key takeaway was seeing how closely connected these systems are – from how donations are processed and distributed, to how storytelling and messaging communicate impact across the community.
They also learned how retail operations help fund free workforce training programs, including job placement services, certifications, and career coaching for individuals facing barriers to employment.
To wrap up the visit, students explored the outlet store, getting a firsthand look at the final stage of the process in action.
Overall, the experience highlighted how business, communication, and operations all work together to create meaningful community impact!

Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams ! Last night both the boys and the girls won the team championships and together brought home the Hicks, Kemp, Jauron combined team trophy for the 19th year in a row. Go Knights!
Through our partnership with Shenandoah Medical Center . They have worked hard to provide with us grant money to help purchase sports medical supplies and recovery equipment. We greatly appreciate the partnership we have with them.
