Officer Luke is back and taking our 5th and 6th graders for rides in his police squad car. Keyana and Katie got to go on an afternoon ride around Tabor this week. Thanks to Officer Alex Killpack who was with us the first semester.

The fifth and sixth graders are reading their poems this week during the school library’s annual Poetry Cafe. The library is lit with candles (electric of course) and the students are treated to water and cookies as they listen to the poetry.

Preschool Pint Size Science continues on a monthly basis. Today we learned all about REACTIONS! We saw how polymers change when mixed with water. Did you know baby diapers have polymers in them to soak up the moisture and keep a baby dry? We used a special “goo” to make green “worms”. We ended our experiments some rocket explosions! Alka seltzer tablets mixed with water in film canisters make for a great rocket! SO much fun and learning!!

Friday's basketball games vs. East Mills have been bumped to Thursday Jan. 13th. Same times and locations. JV Boys at 4:30 pm, V Girls at 6 pm with V Boys to follow at FM Lied Gym.

Today and every day, we thank our School Resource Officers - Deputy Ashton Luke and Deputy Alex Killpack. We are so glad to have them at our school.

Our Jingle Jar Holiday assembly was held this morning. To begin, each class sang a holiday song from their program. The Jingle Jar’s winning class was Mrs. Shirley’s kindergarten! Second place was Mrs. Roberts’ class. Our associate, Regina Burress was presented a check collected from the jingle jars for $3000. The money will be used to help with expenses for her service dog, Gypsy. For winning the contest, Mrs. Shirley’s class got to spray selected staff members and Mrs. Roberts’ fourth graders with Silly String!

Shakey Grounds brought delicious ice cream treats, cold drinks and coffees to our staff this morning, thanks to an anonymous donor. Thanks for the energy boost right before break!

These seniors led the pledge this morning for the entire school.

HOSA had their 2021-2022 Induction last night with their advisor Molly Crom. These students are looking at a future in health occupations.
