November 11, 2021 is the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Author Jeff Gottesfeld read from his children’s book: Twenty-One Steps: Guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which tells the story of how the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier came into being. Mr. Gottesfeld was joined by a Tomb guard who explained the rigorous process of being selected as a Tomb guard and the 27-hour shifts of Tomb guard duty: an honor sought by many but for which few are selected. The third - sixth-graders watched this live on YouTube in the auditorium on Wednesday, November 10.

Over the last couple of weeks, the high school Public Speaking students have been giving demonstration speeches in class . Demonstrations have included preparing desserts, performing yoga poses, teaching football skills, showing how to change a tire, and folding origami. The students shared their diverse talents with their peers, and the entire class had the opportunity to learn about one another while also gaining some new skills in the process.

Look at the food our students have collected for the food bank so far. We are collecting food until November 22 and we want to collect enough food for every family who needs it. We are thankful for our caring students.
